Campus Tailgates Across Houston

RV rental delivered for a Houston campus tailgate

Tailgate on campus without owning an RV

Houston has three football programmes inside the loop and all three run a proper tailgate. The University of Houston fills the lots around TDECU Stadium, Rice does the same around Rice Stadium, and a Texas Southern home game brings the band, the alumni and the food that comes with them.

We deliver the RV from our lot in Spring, park it at your spot, level it, connect it and hand it over. You bring the grill. After the game we come back and collect it, so nobody in your group has to store a coach for the eleven months of the year they are not using it.

Why book one for a home game

A campus tailgate is a long day. Gates open hours before kickoff and the good spots are claimed early. An RV gives you shade, air conditioning, a real bathroom, a fridge that holds and somewhere for the older members of the family to sit down when September in Houston does what it does.

It is also the difference between a group that scatters at the end of the third quarter and one that stays through the fourth.

Alumni weekends, homecoming and rivalry games are where these get booked first, usually by whoever has been carrying the folding tables for the last five years.

Getting the RV to campus

All three campuses sit around 30 miles from our lot in Spring. Delivery is $350 for the first 25 miles and $10 per mile after that, so a campus delivery is usually around $400 for the delivery and the collection together. Your quote carries the exact figure.

The mileage is measured one way, but it pays for four one way trips. We drive out to you, back to the lot, out again at the end of your rental and back once more. Fuel is billed separately at the end of the rental.

Because these are short runs, we have good flexibility on timing and can usually work to a lot that opens early on game day rather than the night before.

The tailgate pass is yours to secure

Each athletics department runs its own tailgating and RV parking, with its own passes, lot assignments and arrival times, and the oversized vehicle spots are limited. That booking is yours to make and it should be the first step, because we deliver to a confirmed spot and nothing else.

Send us the lot, the spot and the hours the lot opens, and we plan the delivery to fit. You need to be there when we arrive. Campus lots admit the named pass holder, and a driver turning up with a coach and nobody to receive it does not get waved through. The handover and walkthrough takes about half an hour.

What to book for a campus tailgate

For a single game day most groups take a Class C or a bunkhouse trailer, which gives you the interior space and the awning without needing a huge spot. If you are staying the night before an early kickoff or making a weekend of homecoming, a Class A gives you more seating and more room to sleep.

Every rental includes 4 hours of generator use per rental day, which is what runs the air conditioning in an unpowered lot, and 200 miles per rental day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to have an RV delivered to a Houston campus?

Delivery is $350 for the first 25 miles from our lot in Spring and $10 per mile after that. The campuses are around 30 miles away, so delivery usually lands near $400 for the drop off and the collection together. The nightly rental is separate and the exact total is on your quote.

Do you handle the tailgate pass?

No. Each athletics department sells its own tailgating and RV parking passes and you secure yours first. We deliver to a confirmed spot.

Can I book it for one day rather than a whole weekend?

Yes. Single day game rentals are common here because the campuses are close to our lot. Tell us your kickoff time and when the lot opens and we build the day around it.

Do I need to be at the lot when you deliver?

Yes. Campus lots admit the named pass holder, so someone from your group needs to meet us at the spot. You also get the systems walkthrough at handover.

Will the air conditioning run if the lot has no power?

Yes, on the generator. The rental includes 4 hours per rental day and extra hours are billed at the published rate, which for a single game day is usually plenty.
