Golf Cart Rentals in Houston: What You Get and How to Book

A golf cart is one of the most asked about add-ons we get, and it makes more sense than people expect. Most of the parks around Houston and across Texas are bigger than they look on the map. Once the coach is levelled and the awning is out, nobody wants to move it again, and a cart turns the walk to the pool, the office or the boat ramp into a two minute ride with everyone on board.

Here is what we rent, how it usually works alongside an RV booking, and the practical bits worth knowing before you ask for one.

The two golf carts we rent

We keep two, and they are both electric rather than gas.

  • Tan Top seats four. It is lifted, it has a loud Bluetooth radio, and the charger comes with it. Pet friendly, which matters more than you would think when the dog has been in the coach all day.
  • Venom seats six. Same idea, more room, which is the one to ask about if you are travelling with two families or a full set of grandkids.

Each cart has its own page with its nightly rate and any minimum stay on it, so you can see the number before you call rather than after.

How a cart usually gets added

Most of our carts go out alongside an RV reservation. You book the coach first, then call and ask for the cart to be added to the booking. That is the simplest route and the one most families take.

If you want a cart without a motorhome, ask when you call. The rate is different when the cart goes out on its own, and it is worth having that conversation with a real person rather than guessing from a page.

One thing that catches people out, so we would rather say it here: the trailer to haul the cart is rented separately. The cart does not travel inside the motorhome. Tell us where you are headed and we will talk through what you need to tow it.

Charging, which is the only real homework

Both carts are electric and both come with a charger. In practice that means you want a plug at your site, which almost every park around Houston has, and you want to put the cart on charge overnight the same way you would plug in a phone. A full charge covers a normal day of running around a park comfortably. If you are planning something longer than loops around a campground, say so when you book and we will tell you honestly whether a cart is the right call.

Where you collect it

Everything goes out from our lot at 21619 Rhodes Rd in Spring, just north of Houston, and that includes the carts. You collect the coach, we sort the cart at the same time, and you leave with both. Pickup day runs the same way it always does, and nothing about adding a cart changes the handover.

Who a cart is actually worth it for

Being straight about it: a cart earns its keep when you are parked somewhere large for several nights. A big state park, a resort style campground, a lakeside site where the water is a walk away. For a two night stop where you are driving out to see things every day, it mostly sits on the trailer.

If you are not sure which way your trip falls, tell us the park and the dates when you call. We have sent carts to most of them and we will tell you if we think you would not use it.

Booking one

Check your dates on the booking page first, since the coach is the part that needs to line up. Then call us on 346-289-0601 and ask for Brittany or Lauren to add a cart, or send a note through the contact page and we will come back to you.

Our rental policies, the payment schedule and the deposit details are all set out on the rates page if you want to read the whole picture before you commit to anything.
